March 11, 2008 the custer show was great. this week i am washing more fleeces from tina in bozeman and dyeing several new colors. i have added more quantities of olive mist, january sky, sedona pinks and blue earth.
February 25, 2008 We had a great time at Quails nest saturday. first i taught a spindle spinning class. Everyone did a fantastic job with their first spinning attempt. the mobius class also did an excellent job getting started on their mobi's (?) I am always amazed at the beautiful color choices everyone puts together. Then I had an open house, trunk show and everyone was able to purchase my yarns.
i plan to get back in the next month for another mobius class. let janelle know if you'd like to sign up. or any other items i have patterns for can become a class. I think the hat or purse are the next favorite to become a class.
February 21, 2008 Today my daughter and i went skiing at Mt Spokane. What a beautiful day. It was warm and sunny. From the top of bunny hill I could see forever, well maybe Montana!!

February 8, 2008 Another NEW YARN
olive mist. this very soft bulky yarn is spun from several soft fleeces and mohair locks. I dyed the fleeces olive and then picked them with another natural gray fleece and natural gray mohair locks.
February 3, 2008 NEW YARNS.
Shirley Mae. This natural gray fleece from Shirley, a sheep owned by ruth plesner, near Hamilton Montana dyed beautifully in many jewel tones. I picked it with another gray fleece named Mae. this very soft bulky yarn is in 105 yard skeins.
Splash 08. Rambouillet wool from Nina Olsen, near Davenport WA. I dyed these fleeces many shades of blues and greens. These are very soft bulky yarns.
Sedona Pinks. I have had requests for pink and brown yarn. So here is is. Sedona is a sheep that has a very soft natural brown fleece. The fleece I purchased is one of her offspring. I picked it with wool and mohair I dyed many shades of pinks. another very soft bulky yarn. The skeins are all at least 105 yards. This is enough to do a scarf,or hat, or mittens. I also have 2 and 3 skein projects. Check out my free pattern section and request them with your yarn order.
January 31, 2008 Several new yarns. These were handspun by my daughter. They are very soft colonial wool plyed with soft stripe wool yarns. Natural heatherd colors.
January 27, 2008 We have had the biggest snow storm since 1954 here in Spokane area. one to two feet of snow has fallen in 24 hours. And I was missing a good old fashion Minnesota snow storm. ! Most of the day I spent spinning...(and shoveling)...another NEW YARN. Splash 08. Rambouillet wool from Nina Olsen and mohair from Margaret Steffens. I dyed pound batches with every shade of blue and green I have. After picking it all together I spun it into a soft bouncy bulky yarn.
January 26, 2008 As I washed and dyed fleeces all week I also finished spinning Huckleberry Splash. there are 14 skeins listed now. This is the end of it. All those jewel colors are calling me now, or maybe the olive/grays, but the blue/greens look refreshing! What to spin next?
January 19, 2008 Another NEW YARN, 'Jaguar'. Jaguar is a very black alpaca fleece from Rochell Fairfield's alpaca flock at Alpaca Glen farm, near Coeurd'alene Idaho. I carded it with sari silk bits, spun it and plied it with a fine black wool yarn. This very soft bulky yarn is a real luxury.
January 17, 2008 The past few days have been filled with a total winter experience. I drove to Bozeman Montana in winter driving conditions. i am not big on driving especially in snow and especially through the most beautiful mountain drive in the country.
When the snow is deeper than the 'welcome to Idaho sign' i should not be behind the wheel. our daughter is returning to this east Spokane/Idaho area. I am very happy to have her near us again. While there I looked up a local shepherdess, Tina Gilchrist to buy some fleeces. They are beautiful, soft and clean. two medium brown , two white and a gray with lots of variation. I can not wait to wash them. Tina introduced me to the sheep. As she pointed out which fleeces i was buying, my eyes were distracted with the most beautiful view. beyond the sheep was the snow covered Gallatin Valley and snowy mountains in the distance. Behind us is the west side of Bridger Mountain, where we skied recently. This area is Sypes canyon. As I spin these wonderful fleeces my mind will be picturing the view these sheep live with every day!
January 14, 2008 I have been spinning more Storm clouds. A total of 12 skeins now and probably 8 more to spin. Must be all the snow storms we had last week! I have also been dyeing pretty lavenders and some olives and blues all for separate colorways. don't forget I am offering free shipping on all orders through January.
January 11,2008 NEW YARN i have been spinning Yuletide. A beautiful soft brown wool. I dyed mohair locks many shades of rusty reds, leaving some white, picked it all together. After spinning, I plyed it with a gold lurex thread. This yarn looks so warm and cozy, just like a yuletide log in the fire.
January 4,2008 I have been spinning more skeins of blue earth and old red barn. Today I went to Paradise Fibers and bought some dyes. Trying a new soft pink on some mohair. I hope to blend it with a brown fleece.
